Cogwheel railway Pilatus
Since summer 2023, eight modern railcars have been traveling uphill on the original route of the world's steepest cogwheel railway. These striking train horses have been picking up speed for the next 50 years, offering unforgettable mountain moments for generations of visitors to come. A timelessly elegant frame in typical Pilatus red embraces the glass passenger compartment with 360-degree panoramic windows. The transparent roof area offers all passengers a spectacular driving experience with the best view. Iconic LED daytime running lights indicate the direction of travel and round off the impressive glass stripe at the front of the vehicle. Subtle interior colors, high-quality materials and upholstered molded wood benches create a first-class travel experience. Thanks to double traction and recuperation of braking energy during downhill travel, the new railcars also operate very efficiently and sustainably.
